Bubble Braids

Bubble braids are not just a nostalgic nod to the 90s, but they're also a fun, edgy, and surprisingly easy way to add something new to your look. Whether you're heading to a festival or a night out with friends, follow this step-by-step tutorial to create your own bubble braids.

    Prepare Your Hair

Begin by splitting your hair into a center part, creating two equal sections on either side of your head. This will be the foundation of your bubble braids, so take your time to get a clean, straight line.

    2

    Secure Your Ponytails

Comb one section of your hair into a mid ponytail and secure it with a hair tie. Make sure it's tight enough to hold but not so tight that it's uncomfortable. Repeat the same process on the other side, ensuring both ponytails are at the same level for symmetry.

    3

    Apply Extra Hold Gel

To achieve that sleek, no-flyaway look, apply a dollop of TRESemmé Extra Hold Gel to the top of your hair. This will help slick down any stray hairs and give your bubble braids a polished appearance.

    4

    Create the Bubbles

Now, take another elastic hair tie and wrap it a few inches down from the top of your ponytail. Don't pull it too tight – the goal is to create a 'bubble.' Continue adding elastics down the length of the ponytail, spacing them evenly. Repeat this step on the other ponytail.

    5

    Volumize Your Bubbles

Gently pull on each section between the elastics to fan out the hair and create volume. This will give you the signature 'bubble' effect. Be careful not to tug too hard, as you don't want to loosen the elastics or create frizz.

    6

    Set Your Style

Once you're happy with the volume and shape of your bubbles, finish off your look with a spritz of TRESemmé Extra Hold Hairspray. This will lock in your style and ensure your bubble braids stay put all day (or night) long.
