The 411 on achieving heatless curls

There’s something about a woman in curls that screams confidence. Who wouldn’t want to rock them? Unfortunately, not all of us are blessed with curls so we must create them ourselves. Whether you use a curling iron or straightener to create your curls, one thing is for sure – heat can take a massive toll on your hair.

The good news is that there are ways to curl your hair without heat. Here’s the 411 on achieving heatless curls:

Braid it

This is an easy and popular way to curl your hair, and it’s hassle-free. However, before braiding your hair, you need to protect and nourish it by using the best hair treatment products. Wash your hair with TRESemmé Platinum Strength Shampoo before applying a deep conditioner to your hair. Then part your hair into four sections and tie each segment while it’s still damp. Braid each section and let your hair dry overnight. Loosen your braids in the morning for fresh, wavy curls.

Use foam curlers

These are ideal to use if you want tight and defined curls, then you should use foam curlers to style your hair. They’re soft and unlikely to damage or snag your hair. Put these in your hair while it’s slightly damp and roll your hair in small sections from the ends up to the roots. Use the attached clip to hold it in place while you sleep. Leave the rollers in overnight and take them out in the morning. For added shine apply TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Shine Oil to curls for a perfectly polished look.

Use velcro rollers

These are great to use if you want increased volume or exotic waves. Pull a section of hair out of your head and put a roller at the end. Then roll under and up towards your scalp. Get the roller as close to the roots as possible to provide more lift.

Magnetic rollers

These rollers are called magnetic because wet hair seems to stick to them. They can be used to wrap hair for curls without any styling product or heat. Once you’ve wrapped wet hair on magnetic rollers, allow your hair to air dry or use a blow dryer on a cool setting.
