The Fluid Wave Fall/Winter 2016

Dancers were the inspiration behind the BCBG Max Azria FW16 show at New York Fashion Week, so when it came to the hair, it makes sense that TRESemmé New York Fashion Week Ambassador Orlando Pita gave models textured waves with beautifully subtle movement. With locks that cascaded gently from imperfect partings, a hairstyle star was born: The Fluid Wave.

TRESemmé stylists perfectly choreographed hair to look charmingly haphazard, keeping it shiny and natural, with slight volume at the roots and tumbling textured waves throughout lengths. And this windswept look worked wonderfully with the cozy fall feel of this show: its autumnal colour scheme, long coats, woolly knits and furry fabrics.

While the dance inspiration lent sparkle, stripes, and a sportswear vibe to the collection, the Fluid Wave said ‘off-duty dancer who’s just undone her bun’ – a relaxed, casual look for downtime.

However you want to wear it, The Fluid Wave is an easy style to achieve yourself. Follow the steps below to recreate the textured waves seen at the BCBG Max Azria FW16 show.

STEP 1:

Twist random 2.5-cm sections around your curling iron, starting five centimetres down from the roots and leaving the ends straight.
