SILICONES
Why do we use them?
Silicones are used in many hair care products. They are an essential ingredient in addressing many hair needs, including conditioning the hair, making it feel smooth, soft, and moisturised. They can also help your hair feel cleaner and easier to comb, by reducing any unnecessary friction.
What do the experts say?
All silicones that TRESemmé use have been rigorously assessed and are safe to use. Dimethicone, one of our most widely used silicones, is approved by the Food & Dry Administration in the USA. So, the next time someone asks you, "are silicones safe for your hair?" you can safely say, yes.
If you prefer to use a hair product free from silicones, we recommend using our 0% Pro Pure range.
ALCOHOL
Why do we use it?
Alcohol helps to provide the perfect hold for your hair style without compromising on its natural movement. We use alcohol in some of our hairspray products.
Some people prefer to use alcohol-free hairsprays as, when used in high concentrations, it can dry out the hair. When we do use alcohol, it’s in minimal amounts that evaporates quickly to help reduce the chance of hair becoming dry.
VITAMINS
Vitamins are organic compounds found in certain foods. Vitamins are used in many of our product ranges. For example, Rich Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner, is infused with Vitamin E and Biotin.
ARGAN
Argan Oil - produced from the kernels of the argan tree - is known to condition and moisturize. Our Keratin Smooth range formulas are infused with argan oil as well as keratin. This range delivers long-lasting smoothness and is specifically formulated to fight frizz, detangle knots, boost shine, add silky softness and tame flyaways.We know many of you want to learn more about the ingredients we use.
