New York Fashion Week SS27 HAIR: HOW TO WEAR RUNWAY STYLES IN REAL LIFE
For a Party: The Siren Slipknot
“For a party, I’d pick the siren slipknot that we did at the Christian Cowan show. This had a few crimps around the face and was a low sitting pony using the TRESemmé Extra Hold Hairspray from the Signature Style collection,” says Marjan.
The Siren Slipknot has exactly the right mood for a shimmery soirée. The low ponytail feels relaxed, while the face-framing crimps and irregular bends bring enough drama to prove you made an effort, without looking like you tried too hard.
Marjan originally created the look as a nod to silver-screen glamour, reworked with separated lengths and a knot that appeared moments away from coming undone. That’s precisely what makes it so wearable after dark.

Pull the hair into a low ponytail, then loop or knot it loosely at the nape. Leave a few pieces free around the face and add crimps selectively, focusing on short sections or the ends rather than crimping every strand.
Use TRESemmé A-List Dry Texturizing Spray to build grip and encourage that deliberately undone finish. A little TRESemmé A-List Bonding Oil can add shine through the lengths, while TRESemmé Extra Hold Hairspray gives the style the lasting memory it needs for the dance floor.
For a Wedding Guest: The Sleek Side Part
For a wedding guest look, Marjan suggests drawing inspiration from the sleek shiny side part seen at Christian Cowan’s FW26 show. It was created using TRESemmé Extra Hold Gel, Extra Hold Hairspray and A-List Lacquer Shine Spray.
The clean shape works beautifully with statement earrings, a strong neckline or a dress that already has plenty to say.
Shine is the detail that elevates this look. Rather than adding texture or volume, the style relies on a precise part and a glossy finish that catches the light.

Create a clean side part, then smooth TRESemmé Extra Hold Gel over the surface as you direct the hair into place. Use a fine-tooth comb or hairbrush to smooth everything into place, paying close attention to the hairline and parting.
Once you’re happy with the shape, mist TRESemmé Extra Hold Hairspray over the finished style. Follow with TRESemmé A-List Lacquer Shine Spray for weightless luminosity and a glossy finish that photographs beautifully.
For a Date: The Slicked-Back Bun
“I love this because it looks chic and sophisticated,” Marjan explains. “Use the TRESemmé Extra Hold Gel and A-List Bonding Oil to twist the length of the pony into a bun.”
A slicked-back bun has date-night range. Pair it with a red lip and it’s pure evening drama.

Smooth TRESemmé Extra Hold Gel through the upper length of the hair and gather it into a ponytail at your preferred height.
Work a small amount of TRESemmé A-List Bonding Oil through the ponytail before twisting it into a bun. Secure the shape with pins, then use a touch of hairspray and clean fingertips or a fine-tooth comb to smooth away frizz or flyaways.
Make the Runway Look Yours
Runway references are a starting point, not a set of rules. Hair density, texture, length, shrinkage and facial features will all influence how a style sits, so the best version is the one adapted to you.
As Marjan puts it: “Always embrace your facial features and hair type and find a version that makes you feel most beautiful and confident. It’s always best to find what suits you most vs what is trendy.”
Curly and coily hair can keep its natural texture through the bun or ponytail while smoothing only the roots. Fine hair may benefit from TRESemmé A-List Dry Texturizing Spray before knotting.

Shorter hair can still borrow the deep side part, glossy surface or strategically crimped face-framing pieces.
Your Runway-Inspired Styling Kit
If you want to narrow the product list to three versatile options, Marjan’s edit is simple: “TRESemmé Extra Hold Hairspray, A-List Lacquer Shine Spray, and A-List Dry Texturizing Spray.”
Use hairspray when your style needs staying power, shine spray when you want a glossy finish and texturizing spray when you need grip, body or a little artful imperfection.
The invitation may set the dress code. Your hair still gets to set the mood.
