HOW TO RECREATE THE TRENDY BOHO BRAIDS FROM NYFW

he Alice & Olivia New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2022 runway show came in hot with bright, bold and maximalist styles from head-to-toe. Drawing inspiration from Alice & Olivia’s vibrant collection, TRESemmé Global Stylist Justine Marjan led a team of hair professionals to create whimsical hairstyles with accessories like bejeweled bows, ribbons and pearls.

To complement the playful and mod energy of this major NYFW moment, Justine masterminded these incredible Bejeweled Boho Braids for every runway model wearing printed attire. If you choose to style these braids for any upcoming events or nights out, feel free to put your own spin on this trendy boho style using your favourite hair accessories to weave through the braids. These runway braids will only get better with your own unique touch!

To create this look at home, here are the TRESemmé products you’ll need:

·       Keratin Smooth Heat Protect Spray

·       One Step Texture Spray

·       Unscented Extra Hold Hair Spray

“We wanted to do something that was really fun and eye catching. The collection is bright, bold, and colourful, so we’re using monochrome accessories, playful ribbons, and lots of bejeweled pieces in the hair. Some of the models will wear monochrome rainbow colours, so we are complementing those looks with monochrome bobby pins. For the girls in prints, we’re playing with boho braids with lots of jewels and ribbon.”

Step 1:

Part hair down the centre and spray Keratin Smooth Heat Protect Spray from root to ends. Use a flat iron to create soft waves.

Step 2:

Spray One Step Texture Spray throughout to add texture.

Step 3:

Section hair in two halves down the centre and create two braids, weaving playful ribbons and strings of pearls into each braid.

Step 4:

Place additional hair accessories, including bejeweled accents, bows and additional pearls onto the braids.

Step 5:

Spray the final look with Unscented Extra Hold Hair Spray
